Recent research released by Google has demonstrated that even when a brand ranks highly in organic search, they can effectively double their number of clicks by investing in an accompanying advert.
The findings follow on from a report from the search giant last July that examined the link between organic and paid search results and concluded that search advertising increased traffic by as much as 89%.
While research from Google advocating the benefits of paid ads might not seem like the most impartial data in the world, the study is food for thought in a marketing industry where SEO has long been held up as the key to winning customer clicks.
